''The Dangers of Wearing Heels''
from 1943 edition of ''Fabrics and Dress''

(Notice how the illustrator even draws the poor girl's stomach bulging out further, while standing upright and wearing heels, than she bulges while lurching forward!  This is a typical "scare" drawings, rendered to discourage women from wearing "sexy attire". However, ultrahigh spike heels and the later platforms made feminine legs so appealing that such "posture warnings" could not prevent fashionable progress.)
