Accompanying text to the game of 1940: |
Translation: "The game was thought up by an officer of the Luftwaffe and goes out far over a conversation game. It gives an idea of the tactical tasks and the decisive combat missions in the air warfare. The game was made for the German youth but also for members of the armed forces and primarily the Lufftwaffe. Beyond this everybody which has joy at a gripping game also will bring to this game a great interest. He recognizes that this game about the fight only could arise from the knowledge about the seriousness of the fight." |
As the carton picture shows there is no doubt that this hints at the warfare with England. The players dispose of bombers, fighter planes, anti-aircraft defence stations, ships and bombs which are moved by a complicated cube and rake system. |
